Electronics Engineer

Position Summary	​The Electronics Engineer will be responsible for designing, updating and testing boards and developing firmware. This position will require a strong background in PCB design and a firm grasp of circuit design. Selected candidate must have experience designing boards that contain FPGA’s or CPU’s, or be capable of demonstrating the knowledge to successfully design a board containing an FPGA or CPU. Experience programing FPGA’s and an expertise in Verilog design is required.

Job Description	ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct and direct product design and development, establishing new design guidelines and tools including FPGA programs, occasionally developing design methods outside established standards. Own the full FPGA design, including logic implementation, data movement and analysis, test benches, compilation, and timing analysis. Effectively testing and diagnosing issues when developing new board designs solving failures if they occur after release. Display an aptitude towards FPGA algorithms and an understanding of effective pipelining of data. Design systems to communicate data between multiple chips or boards. Must be familiar with various communication protocols. Design board layouts to reduce interference, minimize footprint and meet all design requirement Develop detailed documentation on board designs and Verilog. Collaborate with embedded software team to adapt firmware to meet the product’s needs. Prepare engineering reports covering topics or issues involving various products or technical fields, with contribution from various individuals including external consultants or subject matter experts. Some reports may be distributed outside the company. Direct the development of new products by coordinating the creation of specifications, prototype design, creation and execution of validation tests, reviewing and preparing supporting documentation. Execute and manage execution of tasks according to orders or project schedules, striving for 100% on-time completion. Provide timely reports on project status. QUALIFICATIONS Ability to program in Verilog Ability to design board layouts and select electrical components Ability to diagnose electrical issues with board designs Ability to read and interpret documents such as design documents or board layouts. Ability to write reports, white papers, and correspondence. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Proficiency of statistical tools. Drive to learn new skills, acquire knowledge and apply to practical situations. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in Engineering or Physical Science Master’s or PhD. degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional certification or license preferred. Minimum of three years of experience writing in Verilog Three to five years of experience using applicable industry standards.
