Position Summary

Small manufacturing company in DeSoto is looking for a Controller. This role will eventually replace the current CFO, who plans to retire soon. The accounting department currently has the CFO, an AP clerk, and this vacant role. It is very hands-on, and requires an accounting expert to take on the day to day as well as month-end closes.

Job Description

Oversee financial activities and personnel as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.


Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly Financial Statements

  • Completion of monthly General Ledger reconciliations

  • Job Cost accounting and revenue recognition

  • Assist in preparation of annual Budget and Forecasts

  • Daily update of Cash Forecast

  • Weekly Status Reports

  • Manage Accounts Payable and weekly check/ACH processing

  • Process Accounts Receivable deposits

  • Filing Sales and Use tax in multiple states

  • Manage Co-Op payments/reports

  • Process Debit/Credit Cards and manage Petty Cash fund

  • Backup to Payroll Manager utilizing Paycom service

  • Producing and filing year-end 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC

  • Manage front desk/AP personnel.

  • Other duties or special projects as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience of 3 – 5 years in accounting management

  • Accounting or Finance degree required

  • Must have recent QuickBooks Desktop experience

  • Strong leadership abilities

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Deadline driven and detail-oriented

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
