Position Summary

Provide technical support to production units and projects in plant for controls needs. Utilize data driven analysis to maintain and improve controls systems.

Salary

Up to $125,000, with up to 12% in bonus

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Plan, design and coordinate control and instrumentation projects and upgrades

  • Define, identify and prepare justification for potential areas for process control application

  • Coordinate with process & production engineers to develop upgrades to current process controls

  • Provide documentation and training on process control applications

  • Define and utilize mathematical models, evaluate experimental or plant data and recommend solutions to process control problems using the data

  • Participate in PSM processes (i.e.: MOC, PHA, etc.)

  • Provide support as required for troubleshooting of process control hardware and software

  • Stay informed of technical advancements in process control technologies


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:


  • BS in Chemical or Electrical Engineering

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in process control engineering in chemical manufacturing facility

  • Experience with maintaining distributed control systems (DCS)

  • Understanding of OSHA PSM standards and requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (i.e.: Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Track record of achieving results

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and business understanding

  • Ability to work independently


DESIRABLE:


  • Experience with Honeywell TDC and Experion DCS

  • Experience with Siemens PCS7 Control system

  • Experience with SIS and IEC 61508/61511

  • Experience with PI historian

  • Experience with advanced process control tools (i.e.: Aspen DMC)

  • Experience with alarm management (i.e.: PAS Plantstate Suite)

  • Knowledge of process control network architecture and cyber security

  • Chemical manufacturing process understanding

  • Advanced degree in engineering

  • Knowledge of project management methodology
